Using Instagram Hashtag Data To Evaluate Which UK Shopping Centre Is The Most Instagrammable
The Project
Working with Zendbox we were looking to attract new links to the website which were closely tied to key service offerings – most notably ecommerce fulfilment.
This project looked to align the retail side of fulfilment with bricks and mortar stores (shopping centres) and the utilisation of social media data to understand which of the shopping centres across the UK were deemed to be the most “instagrammable”.
The project was designed to be a quick turnaround and deliver high quality relevant links back to the website.
Our Approach
Our initial approach was to compile the data using Instagram hashtag data and a list of shopping centres from across the UK. This was fairly straightforward and we used demographic data to understand which of the shopping centres were most popular by footfall to compile a full list.
Once we had done this we pulled together and formatted the Instagram hashtag data to compile a list of the most “Instagrammable Shopping Centres”.
We also wanted to expand the reach of the Digital PR campaign so we looked at the data from local angles, compiling data for each region so we could outreach to local publications to expand the reach and coverage.
