Case Study

Watches2U is one of the UK’s leading independent retailers of watches, sunglasses & accessories. Since 2002, Watches2U has been selling watches around the UK and to over 31 countries worldwide & is quickly becoming known as one of the largest online watch retailers in Europe.

The Project

Over the last six years we have worked closely with Watches2U to develop their online presence, primarily through PPC & most recently through SEO. Watches2U wanted to grow their online presence substantially to be one of the UK’s largest retailers of watches & sunglasses online & in addition, they wanted SEO support to grow their organic visibility while recovering from previous penalties.

The Approach

From a PPC perspective our approach was innovation – driving the utilisation of new products & rolling these out with an international scope allowed us to drive hundreds of thousands of new visitors to the website while maintaining a good ROAS & user experience.

Utilising a range of Google products including Smart Shopping, Custom Intent & the AdWords API we were able to produce an innovative PPC campaign which has seen substantial YOY growth & allowed us to capitalise effectively on key times of year such as Black Friday.

When we approached the SEO at the beginning of 2019 we started initially with a full technical audit & update of the website, followed by a planning session for Online PR & outreach to develop the website’s link profile.

The Online PR became a key pillar of our approach, helping to grow the Watches2U brand through both link acquisition & also through referral traffic from placements that we’ve achieved in relevant top tier national & regional publications.

The Results

Now into our sixth year with Watches2U, we have developed a long-term partnership & seen substantial growth across the board from our PPC & SEO offering. Since starting our work together, we have seen an increase in transactions of 88% & revenue growth of 77%, in addition to helping the website launch in over 31 countries worldwide. Our innovative approach to Online PR & Outreach has allowed us to garner a wide range of top tier links within the first 12 months of the SEO campaign, examples of publications include:

This has helped to support Organic growth across the website & developed a strong online referral presence for the website (in addition to growing brand awareness!).

Black Friday shoes, clothing and designer bag deals

ESBest product reviews are unbiased, independent advice you can trust. On some occasions, we earn revenue if you click the links and buy the products, but we never allow this to bias our coverage. The reviews are compiled through a mix of expert opinion and real-world testing.

These are the worst Christmas sins in the UK, from re-gifting presents to eating advent chocolate in one sitting

It may be the most wonderful time of the year, but it doesn’t mean people are on their best behaviour. Christmas is upon us, and while it is a time to be generous, thankful and festive, it turns out we’re still up to no good.

We've got data: How long Love Island series 5 couples will last

Considering every single Love Island couple from season four broke up within six months, we don't have high for series five's lovers. Not even Greg and Amber (hello, Limerick to Newcastle?). New data has now revealed that the couples will break up after only 69 days, and our jaws ain't hitting no floors.
